How Does An Air Separator Work?

Air is the enemy of a hydronic system. Not only will it create noise in your system, but it also causes corrosion and can even stop the flow of water all together. Removing air is imperative to maintaining optimum performance.

In the video below, you'll get to see exactly what's going on inside your pipes. Bruce Marshall, of Emerson Swan, shows you a system operating with air, and then shows you how that system operates when an air separator is installed and the air is removed.

The Taco 4900 Series Air Separators are designed for the complete elimination of air from closed loop heating and cooling systems up to a maximum temperature of 240°F and a maximum pressure of 150 psi. The principle on which the Taco 4900 Series Air Separator is based is a patented and proven method of removing gases from water: the PALL ring process. Taco’s family of air elimination products delivers the most complete and effective means of air removal on the market.

Smith's Quiet-One Kickspace Heaters - For Those Hard To Heat Areas

Kickspace Heaters from Smith’s Environmental Products are designed to provide a unique yet purposeful solution to those “hard-to-heat” areas. With four sizes to choose from, the Quiet-One 2000 Series offers great flexibility and units can be matched more precisely to the demands of the job site.

The Quiet-One 2000 offers high BTU output at low decibel levels. Maximum BTU output from a small footprint is the hallmark of the Quiet-One 2000 products. This ensures maximum utilization of floor and wall space in such rooms as kitchens and baths where space is at a premium.

Quiet-One 2000 Series kickspace heaters have a highly efficient heat exchanger with low water content which allows the built-in thermostat to respond quickly, saving fuel (because it only operates when the boiler is on) while supplying warm air throughout the kitchen. The combination of the “High E” heat exchanger and a low power motor and a fan with “easy glide” sleeve bearings ensures low electrical usage (equal to a 40 watt light bulb).

The Smith's Quiet-One Kickspace Features:
  • Energy efficient (peak performance at lower temperature)
  • Whisper quiet, low noise, low vibration fan
  • Four sizes to choose from
  • Installer friendly (no screws required)
  • Certified performance
  • Fits into those hard to heat areas
  • 5 year warranty

What Is Insul-Tarp?

Insul-Tarp is a patented revolutionary product like no other on the market today. Its lightweight, Space Age design integrates closed cell foam and reflective technology with a protective poly coating all within three, thin layers. The durable poly coating protects the insulating material from potentially damaging surfaces and is impermeable to moisture. The physical characteristics and overall design of Insul-Tarp make it a very effective product for insulating under concrete slabs in pole barns, crawl spaces, greenhouses, and in residential, commercial and agricultural radiant heating systems.

Quick Installation
Insul-Tarp is available in multiple roll sizes which allows for quick installation and fewer seams to be taped. While other insulation products require the subsoil surface to be lowered and leveled, no special preparations are needed to accommodate Insul-Tarp.

Durability
Insul-Tarp's cross woven polyethylene shell provides a durable coating to withstand construction traffic. Insul-Tarp will not crack or crumble during installation, allowing for a constant thermal break beneath the slab.

Effective Vapor & Radon Barrier
Insul-Tarp's low perm. rate allows it to act as a vapor barrier. Therefore, it become very effective in preventing radon gas infiltration, creating a safer environment for your customer.

Watts Radiant PEX-AL: Strength You Can Depend On

The RadiantPEX-AL Advantage
RadiantPEX-AL is a composite pipe engineered for radiant floor heating. It's proven, long lasting and maintenance-free. Installers like it because it's lightweight, durable and can be shaped to fit any jobsite. The aluminum layer protects boiler systems against corrosion and it has superior temperature and pressure ratings.

Built To Last
RadiantPEX-AL is manufactured to American Standard Testing Methods for composite radiant pipe and fittings (ASTM F-1281-05). Included are requirements and test methods for materials, workmanship, dimensions, environmental stress cracking, sustained hydrostatic pressure strength, thermo-cycling resistance and bend strength among other tests. RadiantPEX-AL meets or exceeds these specifications.

Features
Best of Both Worlds - Strength, memory and pressure rating of aluminum with the corrosion resistance of PEX, inside and out.

Bends To Your Will - Rigid enough to hold itself in place for straight, neat runs with enough flexibility to go around obstacles without additional fittings.

The Strong Silent Type - Doesn't expand as much as PEX, resulting in less noise in an underfloor application.
