Watts Radiant Onix Tubing

What makes Onix™ perfect for radiant heat and snow melting applications? Cross-linked Durel EPDM is extruded into a tube then wrapped with an AlumaShield barrier and a second layer of Durel EPDM. This composite tube is reinforced with 1000 denier aramid cord, the same incredibly tough and heat resistant material used to make fire- and bulletproof shields. A third and final outer jacket of EPDM is applied. The result is a durable, flexible tubing formed of five heat and age resistant materials, proven in tens of thousands of installations over the years.

One of the best features of our Onix tubing is its aluminum barrier layer, AlumaShield™. Unlike plastic barriers, AlumaShield is unaffected by sunlight, UV radiation from fluorescent lamps, moisture, or elevated temperatures. Due to its placement inside the tube, the AlumaShield barrier can't be scraped off or damaged by typical job site abuse.

Onix is the product that can be installed with lifelong confidence in blazing heat and sunlight, or in Arctic frost and shadows. Used for commercial snow melting, space heating, residential staple-up and supply/return lines, you'll find Onix installed in thousands of quality projects every year.

Features
  1. Can stand up to normal job site conditions
  2. No special tools required
  3. Tighter bend radius allows for entry into hard to reach areas
  4. Can't be kinked
  5. Temperature range from 180°F to -30°F
  6. Resistant to UV degradation whether outside for a day or a year

SuperStor Ultra Water Heater

Did you know an indirect water heater is one of the most cost effective ways to heat water? It eliminates the tremendous flue losses associated with gas-fired storage water heaters without the hassles and extra costs of tankless gas water heaters. When used with a modern, high-efficiency boiler these energy savings hold true even in the summer when your boiler isn't needed for heat!

The SuperStor Ultra is a high performance indirect water heater that can generate over 50% more hot water than many water heaters of a similar size. It has minimal heat loss, thanks to a 2" thick environmentally safe water blown foam insulation.

Use the SuperStor Ultra in conjunction with a HTP high efficiency boiler to reduce operating costs even more!

Thanks to the finned cupronickel heat exchanger, the SuperStor Ultra provides the highest BTU output per foot than any other heat exchanger in the market!

Maximize Your Systems Potential With Silent Fin Heating Edge

Condensing boilers, Ground Source Heat Pumps and Solar Thermal Collectors are all great ways to save energy and reduce fossil fuel usage. All three achieve their highest efficiency when delivering low temperature water but generally have higher upfront costs than their less efficient counterparts. While each technology has inherent features and benefits, each is also judged on its ability to provide a return on investment. Whether for commercial or residential use, it is imperative that careful attention be paid to the application of the equipment and the distribution system being utilized by these technologies.

The challenge faced when it comes to heating effectively with traditional baseboard is that supply water temperatures need to be at least 140˚F in order to deliver enough BTUH’s to sufficiently heat a space at design temperature. Not so with the Smith's Silent Fin Heating Edge High Capacity Coil Block. Due to its unique embossed fin design, it is able to deliver comparable BTUH’s using 100˚ - 120˚F supply water, all in an attractive package.

Silent Fin Heating Edge, by Smith's Environmental Products, allows these technologies to perform to their optimum efficiency and provide their respective returns on the initial investment. In other words, Heating Edge helps to make that ROI possible.

Features

  • Quiet delivery of heat
  • Attractive design
  • Superior low temperature performance
  • Perfect for use with solar thermal, geothermal or condensing boilers
  • Single pipe design
  • Suitable for residential or commercial applications

What Is A Heat Recovery Ventilator?

A Heat Recover Ventilator (HRV) is integrated into the duct work in a home, usually located near the furnace. The HRV expels stale indoor air to the outside, and draws in fresh air from outside to be distributed throughout the home.

  1. Warm stale air from your home is drawn into the HRV.
  2. Heat from the indoor air is transferred via the unit's aluminum core to the fresh air stream.
  3. Stale air is expelled outside, leaving its warmth behind in the HRV's aluminum core.
  4. Cool fresh air is drawn into the HRV, and warmed by the heated aluminum core.
  5. Your entire home is filled with warm, clean, fresh air.

The air streams pass on either side of Lifebreath’s exclusive and patented aluminum core, never mixing. In the summer, the HRV works in reverse. Warm air is expelled and cool air is delivered throughout the home.
